The Lost
Matthew 9: 11-13 ” When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
I have been sick for around a week now with Flu type A. I can tell you there have been times during this Flu when I have called on the name of the LORD. One thing I love about Jesus is He always goes where He is called for, or searched for. He is always close to those in need. You don’t see Jesus in the Bible hanging out at church pot lucks, you see Him hanging in what was considered that bad side of town, with the wrong people. When asked why he does so by the religious of the day, Jesus basically says, He goes where He is needed. These people’s lives called out to Jesus they needed a doctor. Why would the great Physician hang out with those who claim no need of Him?
Personally I want to be interested in the sick not the healthy. I don’t want to be stealing people away from another church, I am interested in the lost, those who do not believe. As your Pastor I want to challenge to find the lost, they need Jesus. Why search and look for those who are already found? Bring in the lost, the broken, those who are searching for something more to this life. Jesus came into this world for you, me and the lost. What is on your pastor’s mind? Church attendance, nope, tithe, nope. Am I thinking about whether you like me or not? No I am not worried about your view of me, what I am worried about is all the people who live by our church and yet don’t know Jesus. They are on my heart and my mind I hope they are on yours as well. I believe if you ask Jesus, He would tell you it’s what He is thinking about as well. As church family let’s seek out the lost because they need to be found.
In Christ,
Pastor Jade
